After completing his education from Weber State University, Gary accepted an offer from Emerson Electric in Human Resources, where he spent three years, before getting back into sales. Gary said of that experience "I knew that I could sell, so I thought that I would try something different, and while there I envied virtually every sales person I saw for that three year period. I suppose that experience was good to solidify the career that I really wanted to pursue."

The majority of Gary's career was spent with Design Analysis Associates, a small privately owned business specializing in environmental monitoring.  Gary joined the company as the Director of Sales when it was not quite a half a million dollar business.  During the next fourteen years the the company grew to 14.5 million dollars in sales. The majority of  business was in the US, but channels were established throughout the world as well.  Gary spent the next four years with DAA, however it was then acquired by a couple of different companies and after eighteen years it seemed like a good time to move on.

After serving a mission Gary was asked, "what do you want to do?" he replied, "I want to be a sales manager." Other than three years in Human Resources after college, his entire career has been driving sales and has always seen growth. When asked why sales, his reply, "I love to provide solutions for people, and to do it in a way that the customer is comfortable working with me. I love building relationships of trust; many of those relationships now span more than 25 years. The enjoyment for me is knowing people for so many years, and a number of those relationships are much deeper than business. I believe integrity is the key; never give anyone a reason to distrust you, even if it costs you business. My integrity is worth more than an order."

Gary and Sandy have three children and currently have five grandsons. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, fly fishing, and playing the guitar in a band with his son.
